Kat Vance
rogue dance productions - dancer
Kat Vance was born in Maryland, where she was already “dancing in the womb.” With a mother who was both a passionate dancer and studio owner, it may have seemed inevitable that Kat would follow the same path—but she had to choose dance for herself. After training until age six, she persuaded her mom to let her explore other activities such as horseback riding, soccer, and gymnastics. By age twelve, Kat found her way back to dance through hip hop and soon committed herself fully to the art form.
She began her formal training at Jeanne’s School of Dance at thirteen and, during summers, studied with Boston Ballet, Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. In high school, Kat competed in varsity hip hop and jazz with Basha High School’s Kinesis Dance Company and graduated in 2011 as a member of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts.
Kat continued her training in the BFA program at the University of Arizona School of Dance, where she studied ballet, modern, and jazz with equal emphasis. After returning home, she was grateful to find Rogue, where she performed in Salem, Cleopatra, and And Then There Were None.
After taking time away from the stage to get married and start a family, Kat is thrilled to be dancing with Rogue once again. Today, she shares her love of dance as a ballet teacher at NuEvolution Dance Studio, inspiring the next generation of dancers with her passion and experience.
